Eucalyptus Globulus is an evergreen tree native to Australia. The leaves are covered with oil glands and contain compounds that are powerful and natural antiseptic and disinfectants. The leaves are steam distilled. The major constituent of Eucalyptus oil is cineole, a natural organic compound with a camphor/cooling smell.
The oil has therapeutic, antimicrobial properties. Studies found eucalyptol to reduce inflammation and pain when applied topically. It can also be applied to wounds to prevent infections.
